Here are some quick helpful tips . . .
Have a clear set of goals of what type of home you want. How many bedrooms, bathrooms, size of the section – does the house get good sun? Also consider schools, travelling times to and from work.
Look at as many properties as you can; on Trade Me, Realestate.co.nz, visit open homes get a good real estate agent on the job – get a ‘feel’ for the market in the area you wish to live. Drive around and look at homes for sale. This will allow you to get a good understanding of the price of property so you can make comparisons. Do your homework; it will pay off in the long run.
